4GL Solutions Offers Cloud Based Hosting Service
Markham, ON — May 24, 2011 — 4GL Solutions announced today the availability of their leading ERP metal center software Steel Manager III, via a cloud based network service.
George Walton, President of 4GL Solutions, commented, “As an option to having an onsite server to house our Steel Manager III solution, we are pleased to offer our customers the ability to access Steel Manager III, and their data, on a totally secure virtual server. Staff will simply sign on in the morning as usual and will connect to the IP address of the virtual server. This service eliminates the initial capital investment of a server while giving customers the ability to instantly add additional hardware or software resources should the need arise. While the goal is to provide 100% server availability, the Service Level Agreement commits to our customers that Steel Manager III and their data will be available 99.999% of the time, 7x24x365. This is possible as in the unlikely event there is any type of problem with the server, our SM3 software, along with our customer’s data, will be quickly and automatically transferred to another server ready in waiting.”
4GL Solution’s hosting servers are connected to their Internet backbone via redundant paths, with traffic routed through enterprise class Cisco routers. The servers have multiple power supplies and Internet uplinks. All paths are fully redundant with multiple GB capacity links between each device. The servers are housed in a completely secure state-of-the-art facility which has 24x7 monitoring and technical support, biometric access control systems and video camera surveillance, massive power distribution systems with full redundant battery, UPS backup and diesel generator protection, state of the art climate control systems, gas fire suppression system and pre-action sprinkler systems. All of this to insure customer’s data is fully protected.
